Tablets
Tablets are a common dosage form of complementary medicine for many reasons. Not only are they inherently tamperproof, but they are economically well-suited to large scale manufacture. Tablets ensure accurate dosing, generally maintain longer expiry periods, and are easy to handle and transport.
We offer various film coating solutions to hide unpleasant colours, odours and tastes, or to control the release profile of active ingredients.
Our tableting area is equipped to produce a large range of tablet shapes and sizes, and we stock a variety of coating colours to enhance your product's identity.
Capsules
Capsules are a powerful branding tool for complementary medicines. Not only can you boost product identity by using distinct colour and size configurations, they are also easy to swallow, efficiently mask odours and tastes, and present an image of purity, efficacy and ease of use for the consumer.
Capsules, and the encapsulation process, make improving the stability of difficult ingredients much easier, in particular those which are heat, pressure or light sensitive. Capsules also require fewer excipients - so those containing more reactive ingredients are easier to place into a dosage form.
Patient compliance is very high with capsules. Capsules allow for easy identification, accurate dosing, and are often preferred due to ease of swallowing.
Powders
Powders are the perfect dosage form for dieting, general nutrition, body building, and athletic performance products. Powders have better chemical stability than liquids and dissolve faster than tablets or capsules because disintegration is not an issue.
Powders can be designed to offer a pleasant flavour profile, and they offer your consumers a flexible dosing alternative, as they can be consumed with various liquids or foods.
Packaging
Our facility has packaging capabilities to suit the presentation of most finished products. We are able to package tablets, capsules and powders, into glass and plastic bottles and jars.
Our extensive connections within the industry provide us with access to a variety of alternative packaging solutions (such as sachets and blister packs) which we can source to best meet your product needs.
BOM Build
Our online BOM Build software provides you with access to our full inventory list, and allows you to craft your own product in detail, right down to the packaging.

Development & Formulation
Our product development activities include formula development for new non-prescription medicines, small-scale trial work with client formulations, scale-up process development, and clinical trial batch production.
Shared Stability Service
Performing stability studies can be a lengthy and complex process. In addition, the costs can be substantial. NPD has developed systems and methods that, combined with experienced laboratory analysts and a secure controlled environment, allow us to offer a Shared Stability Service.
The Shared Stability Service is a program in which stability data is pooled from various studies into our library. Extensive data already exist, and continue to be supplemented by further studies. By becoming a member, you help to donate to this library, and the shared data is used to support the stability compliance of your products.
We provide high–quality protocol development – which can be presented to the regulatory authority at your request, sample storage, analytical testing, and management of stability studies, data evaluation and reporting.
NPD will assume responsibility for the stability compliance of your product when sufficient data exists to do so. Due to the large amount of data we already have, in some cases we can take over this responsibility very quickly.
